HAULAGE MANAGER

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Haulage Manager to oversee transportation and haulage operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely movement of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for fleet and driver management, route planning, logistics coordination, cost control, regulatory compliance and performance monitoring.

▪️ Oversee daily haulage and transportation operations, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient vehicle utilisation.
▪️ Manage fleet operations, including vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, fuel consumption and repairs.
▪️ Coordinate drivers, dispatch activities, routes and delivery schedules.
▪️ Monitor haulage costs and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce transportation expenses.
▪️ Ensure compliance with road safety standards, transport regulations and company policies.
▪️ Track delivery performance, vehicle downtime, fuel usage and other key operational metrics.
▪️ Manage relationships with third-party transporters, vendors and other logistics partners.
▪️ Ensure proper documentation of trips, deliveries, vehicle inspections and maintenance activities.
▪️ Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions to minimise delays, losses and safety incidents.
▪️ Prepare regular reports on haulage performance, costs and service delivery.

▪️ Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
▪️ Relevant experience managing haulage, fleet or transportation operations, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG or a related industry.
▪️ Strong knowledge of fleet management, route planning, vehicle maintenance and transport regulations.
▪️ Experience managing drivers, transport vendors and logistics service providers.
▪️ Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving and cost-management skills.
▪️ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transport or fleet management systems is an advantage.
▪️ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
